Shangtar's Frigid Embrace is one of the locations in The Landing Site in Journey to the Savage Planet; it is the first location the player visits on AR-Y 26 and the resting place of the crashed Javelin.
Description[]
Shangtar's Frigid Embrace is a snow-covered, icy ridge spanning the entire western section of The Landing Site.
The area is scattered with polypod trees and springy egg sacs, as well as large spires of ice which can be accessed via grapple flowers.
Snowy pufferbirds are found commonly throughout Shangtar's Frigid Embrace, often accompanied by an alpha pufferbird.
At the very western side of the area lies the Javelin, as well as the outside the javelin teleporter. To the east lies Jellywaft Basin and beyond, The Verdant Wilds of Zyl. On the southern side, the entrance to Kayn's Icy Refuge can be found.

Though the source of these sounds is never found, strange groaning and whale-like noises can be heard throughout Shangtar's Frigid Embrace, in addition to the jellywafts from Jellywaft Basin
